If you’ve always wanted to try yoga and not sure which class to start with, my class is for you! I approach the practice of yoga from a basic, gentle, stretchy, feel-good-all-over point of view. I’ve been working with “beginners” for over 10 years and simply want to encourage others to use yoga as one of the foundations of a balanced lifestyle. Much of my inspiration comes from fellow yogis – many of whom have attended my classes at the local YMCA, Five Willows, Lincoln Racquet Club, LifePointe and several other places too numerous to mention! People in Lincoln are doing yoga and loving it as a way to bring peace and joy into their lives! Please join us and start today to improve your physical and spiritual health.
A native Nebraskan I have lived in Lincoln for the last 15 years where I earned a Social Work degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Since then I have worked as a preschool teacher, YMCA parenting specialist, daycare director and medical social worker. With the birth of my third child I became a full time mother and am grateful to have that opportunity.
I have enjoyed practicing yoga for the past 8 years as well as sharing it with my children and friends. I am currently working with Sheila to complete yoga training. I will offer yoga classes for children and teenagers providing a safe nurturing environment for fostering physical, psychological, and intellectual development. Our children must become aware of the benefits of being physical, understanding food and ways to cope with increasing distractions that surround them. I believe meaningful yoga can be a fun and noncompetitive activity that all can participate in.
Outside of being a mother and developing yoga classes I am passionate about living an active and healthy lifestyle. I have been a recreational runner for many years and in the spring of 2010 trained for my first marathon where I qualified to compete in the Boston Marathon. I will compete this spring and have fully embraced this challenge and opportunity. As a family we love to be outside camping, hiking, or just playing.
I look forward to working with the children in our Lincoln community.
I have lived in Lincoln for ten years, during that time I obtained by BA in Graphic Design from Doane College. I found yoga around five years ago when my mother was terminally ill. It helped me to deal with the grief and give me peace of mind. Once I found the mat I haven’t been able to leave. I have known since I started practicing I wanted to share this beautiful practice with everyone. 200hr. certification through Yoga World Reach. During my free time I spend with my fiancé and our three crazy dogs and two cats. There is never a dull moment in our house and I love it that way. My life is about yoga. I look forward to sharing the practice with you.
